Terence Blanchard and the E-Collective Live at Bryant Park

You’ve probably heard more of Terence Blanchard’s music than you realise, particularly if you enjoy the films of Spike Lee. A prolific composer for films as well as an exciting trumpter player capable of both fiery and mournfully romantic approaches to soloing, Blanchard’s recent music has taken prompts from contemporary sounds as well as the jazz tradition.

Here he is in concert with his band, ‘E-collective’, in a set inspired by saxophonist and composer Wayne Shorter.
