Based in and around and Newcastle, led by Alabama-born trumpeter/flugelhornist and vocalist Pete Tanton, the Riviera Quartet play original compositions reminiscent of composers such as Mingus, Chet Baker and Joao Gilberto. The Quartet have a deep connection with Scarborough Jazz Club having recorded two tracks of their debut self titled album at the club and their most recent single Tell Me When It’s Safe to Open My Eyes featured as the starting point for the most recent Jazz Thing Podcast. Band members Mark Williams – guitar, Andy Champion – bass, and Russ Morgan – drums also play in Zoe Gilby’s Aurora who will be performing at Scarborough Jazz Festival in February.  Listen to the recent single along with their previous releases here
