As this week’s jazz mix has an ECM records theme, we think it’s fitting to feature a live performance from one of their artists. Gary Burton is one of the most well known vibraphonists in the world. Having pioneered the 4 mallet method and given the vibraphone the true exposure it deserves, the jazz community is indebted to him. In this NPR Tiny Desk performance he is joined by guitarist Julian Lage, a young guitarist who has quickly become one of the most exciting musicians on the international scene.
